I won!
So...NaNo 05?

I won! 53,163 words, to be precise.

I didn't finish the story, but I plan to do so at some point, when life has slowed down. Hell, this is the first chance I've actually had to log into this journal since just after November. It's been mental.

If you've friended me, you'll probably notice that I've just done a huge load of posts - 9 Chapters of my story. Only edited slightly to remove the most hideous wordpadding. I've got a printout covered in bright 'ouch-my-eyes' pink pen scribblings telling me exactly what I need to change and where. And I'll get around to doing that at some point - probably after my exams.

But, yeah. NaNo 2005 - sorted. :)

I finally have pictures of Mak! Both little doodles I did in the margins of my notes, but it's better than nothing.

Novel Title:
Estimated length: honestly, I have no idea.
Your writing experience: I've had a few short stories published and I write a lot of *gasp* fanfiction.
SciFi- new genre? Or old favorite?: Never written sci-fi before, so it's a whole new ball game for me.
Any sub-Genres?: Humour.
Gonna publish?: I'm focussing on finishing first.
Cliches/archetypes you're including (not necessarily a bad thing!): A bounty hunter...Hyperdrive? Talking computer? Aliens. It's one big Cliche-fest.
Cliches/archetypes you're avoiding: You know, I really don't know what the clichés are in this genre...seriously. No clue.
Theme(s): Not everyone's as clear-cut as they seem, I suppose.
What we (the readers) will learn: That I have a really screwy imagination.

Main character(s): Lelly, Eneri, Mak
Secondary characters: Fenwick, as-yet-nameless Bounty-hunter
Protagonist(s): Lelly, Eneri, Mak, Fenwick
Antagonist(s): As-yet-nameless Bounty-Hunter, as-yet-nameless bad guy.

Setting: Various planets, a space-ship. I'm hoping to work it out as I go along.
Races/inhabitants: Thus far, I have humans and a race called Suasians. Other than that, nada.
SciFi aspects: ...It's spacey. And in the future.

Conflict: Mak's been accused of lots of very big crimes. He's not guilty, and he's trying to prove it.
Obstacles in the journey: The bounty hunter, the space police, the fact that Lelly and Eneri are supposed to be at school, not jetting off across the galaxy with wanted criminals.
Expected resolution: Mak proves he's innocent. *gasp* thrilling.

Summary of plot: Lelly and Eneri both attend Madame Chameliana's School for the Daughters of Well-Off Gentlemen. Or at least, they did, until they get left behind after an off-planet market trip. Desperate to get back to school before their absence is notice (which is unlikely to happen any time soon, given that people tend to forget about them even when they're in the room to act as a reminder) they stowaway on a departing ship in the hopes of hitching a lift.

Unfortunately for them, the ship has been stolen by the Galaxy's Most Wanted Man in his quest to prove his innocence.

Trapped on a ship with a suspected psychopath with a penchant for school uniforms, and a shipboard computer who has long since given up hope of having any intelligent life along on the journey, the Galaxy's Least Memorable Schoolgirls find themselves in a race against time, and bounty hunter who enjoys her job a little too much, to prove that the man holding them hostage isn't a criminal...
